Previous Polls
These were questions relating to: Are you going to the May 2002 SAVE International Conference? Were you at the last one? This poll was developed by and is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of SAVE International.
Poll Summary
A request to participate in the poll was sent to 1,500 people listed as interested in VE or SAVE members. Requests remain outstanding to obtain the list of previous attendees of conferences.
While nearly half of the requests to participate were non-members, almost all of the responses were from SAVE members. Less than 0.6% of nonmembers responded. Over 13% of the members contacted responded. The respondents are an influential group to get others
to attend. In the 2002 conference 43% expected to have more than one sent to the conference and 63.5% had sent more than one in the past.
A majority, 72% of respondents definitely plan to attend the 2002 conference; 62% attended the 2001 conference. Less than 20% had an overall view of the 2001 conference of less than good. However, it was noted that no non-member voted higher than good and
they generally had a less favorable opinion than a member. Using the 2001 as a guide, the item specified as most needing improvement was the awards (52%) and initial session (20.0%). The awards got some very negative comments and several respondents said they
would not attend the conference again as a result of the 2001 awards. Others appeared to feel that the initial session was not professional and was not an appropriate kick off to the conference. It appears that most people registered for all sessions. Most
did not specify a reason, but 36% of those did not stay for the full conference, 12% left in the first or second day.
The technical sessions and special sessions appear to have the most attraction. However, some of this may be misleading as networking was mentioned several times as highly desired, yet the
social session rates appears to indicate that they are not working well as a networking item. When this is taken into account, it appears the special and social may be close to equal in attracting
people to the conference.
