In 2003 Wedj/Three C’s Incorporated proposed a VECP. "Appellee DSCP would have it that Appellant WEDJ/Three C’s Value Engineering Change Proposal offered a Change to the finish requirement of the Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) air conditioners to be delivered, and since DSCP Con-tract Number SPO560-03-C-0062 already required that a phenolic thermosetting resin finish be applied to the interior and exterior surfaces of the cabinet enclosure, compressor shroud, and interior sheet metal components of these Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) air conditioners." Wedj/Three C’s was apparently required to perform VE in their contract activities and points to the VECP as evidence of perform VE. The change order was rejected, since the contract already required phenolic thermosetting resin finish be applied to the interior and exterior surfaces of the cabinet enclosure, compressor shroud, and interior sheet metal components.

Raytheon Co., Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded a $7M modification to a previously awarded contract for funding savings on value engineering change proposals for warhead fairing, dual band antenna, telemetric data transmitting set, rear receiver, Unit 10 front microwave receiver, power converter, two-piece Marmon clamp, and control section component parts of the Evolved Seasparrow Missile. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting agency.
- NSWC Crane wins pair of national DoD value engineering awards 2010-03-25.
Two divisions at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane are among the winners of the fiscal 2009 Department of Defense Value Engineering Achievement Awards. A ceremony will be May 12 at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. to recognize value engineering.

- Project Manager proposes value engineering to help New Fort Washington Fire Co firehouse obtain $500,000 in cuts 2010-03-24.
In order to keep the estimated cost of the new Fort Washington Fire Co. firehouse at $7.95 million, about $500,000 in cuts will have to be made to the current plans. Planned is a 21,000-square-foot new central station. A March 23 Upper Dublin Board of Commissioners revealed the “cost variance". The schematic design was presented as being about 30 percent complete. We have a lot of value engineering to do,” he said, indicating further efforts would be made to determine the cost-effectiveness of design elements and various materials used.

- Restricted VeToday services return to full operation 6/11/2004.
VeToday announced today that their revised portal services are returning to full operations. In May the VeToday systems were damaged by a yahoo.com attacker that used a posted program to install offensive material on the VeToday interactive site. After careful consideration, VeToday determined that the number of people making good use of the interactive site versus the number of people that could be served by a much more restricted site was small. Accordingly, VeToday removed many historical portal options. While the removal of some historical services extends over two months, all the more popular services were restored to visitors today.
- SAMI VE LLC announce plans to move main offices 5/13/2004.
SAMI VE LLC announced today a plan to move their main offices from Evergreen Colorado to the Franklin Pennsylvania region. For the last 31 years, SAMI has been based in Colorado (they currently have 11 offices but the main office is in Evergreen). "In the past, this has not been a problem and we have loved living in the Rocky's. However, since 9/11, the cost of travel, in both time and money has been increasing. In a value study of the organization, it was noted that over 80% of SAMI clients were located in the Northeastern section of the US. An analysis of the client base indicated that over 60% were located within a five hour drive of western Pennsylvania." said Sam Martin, President of SAMI VE LLC [more].
- VE Reporting site report data reaches 3Gb of reports. 8/30/2009
SAMI VE LLC announced today that their sharing of data and reporting generation site VE Reporting now has over 3 Gb of reports, summaries, activities review. They hope to place past studies on the site and are offering firms meeting a quality standard a temporary free upload of their projects.

- VeToday adds SF 330 contracting forms to downloads section. 4/13/2004
GSA has made the new Standard Form 330 (SF 330), available for downloads in several formats. We have loaded them in our downloads section for membership use. The SF 330 form is supposed to replace the 254/255 forms, for federal proposals.
- SF330 Government Proposal Form in Microsoft Word. 4/3/2004
Architectural and engineering firms will soon have to start using the new Standard Form 330 (SF330), instead of the 254/255 forms, for federal proposals. On January 12, 2004, the SF330 form became effective; however, the government recently delayed mandatory use until June 8.
Wordsworth Writing, Editing, and Document Formatting Services announced today that they are offering the SF330 template in Microsoft Word and WordPerfect for $59 for continuous, unlimited use by one company (and $249 for all branch offices of the same company).
