  • SAVE International certification process reported to be unreliable 6/13/2004.
VeToday has received several verified reports of delays by groups that took, and did not obtain prompt certification exam test results by SAVE International over the last two years by exam takers. In one incident, a delay of about 18 months was experienced. While it appears that the exam result notification has been improved from that discussed, in a recent event, the test result delay was over two months. In addition, a complaint was lodged that the exam used terminology that was over 30-years old and was so out of date, that the terminology was no longer applicable in today's environment.

  • Restricted VeToday services return to full operation 6/11/2004.
VeToday announced today that their revised portal services are returning to full operations. In May the VeToday systems were damaged by a yahoo.com attacker that used a posted program to install offensive material on the VeToday interactive site. After careful consideration, VeToday determined that the number of people making good use of the interactive site versus the number of people that could be served by a much more restricted site was small. Accordingly, VeToday removed many historical portal options. While the removal of some historical services extends over two months, all the more popular services were restored to visitors today.

  • Yahoo services and websites are major fraud and SPAM centers 6/1/2004.
OfficeOnWeb announced today that the systems provided by Yahoo are the number one centers for groups that harm others websites, SPAM generation, and credit card fraud on the Internet. Regarding SPAM they noted that less than one in 10,000 messages from yahoo.com addresses were valid [more].

  • SAMI VE LLC announce plans to move main offices 5/13/2004.
SAMI VE LLC announced today a plan to move their main offices from Evergreen Colorado to the Franklin Pennsylvania region. For the last 31 years, SAMI has been based in Colorado (they currently have 11 offices but the main office is in Evergreen). "In the past, this has not been a problem and we have loved living in the Rocky's. However, since 9/11, the cost of travel, in both time and money has been increasing. In a value study of the organization, it was noted that over 80% of SAMI clients were located in the Northeastern section of the US. An analysis of the client base indicated that over 60% were located within a five hour drive of western Pennsylvania." said Sam Martin, President of SAMI VE LLC [more].

  • VeToday value engineering news and sharing services dealt a blow 5/1/2004.
VeToday has been offering news, polls, and much more for three years and many have enjoyed its informational benefits. Recently, some people with less brains than you can find in a gnat's navel removed that data and damaged the database [more].

  • SF330 Government Proposal Form in Microsoft Word. 4/3/2004
Architectural and engineering firms will soon have to start using the new Standard Form 330 (SF330), instead of the 254/255 forms, for federal proposals. On January 12, 2004, the SF330 form became effective; however, the government recently delayed mandatory use until June 8.

Wordsworth Writing, Editing, and Document Formatting Services announced today that they are offering the SF330 template in Microsoft Word and WordPerfect for $59 for continuous, unlimited use by one company (and $249 for all branch offices of the same company). The government is providing the form in a PDF format [more].

  • VeToday board decides to "dump" hundreds of news events. 2004-05-09
Due to an attack on VeToday systems, and the cost to reinstall previous news stories in the new systems, several hundred news stories have been lost. We regret that the cost to reinstall these stories exceed the expected benefits for their posting. This was a decision by the VeToday board.
